Why The Stock Market Is Not Your Best Bet---And Why Cash Is King From Mark Cuban

Is the stock market really all it's cracked up to be?

I was just reading an old back issue article from Mark Cuban's site,blogmaverick.com;where he talks about the best place to keep your money.

Mark actually says to do what I do,and that's keep your money in cash. I don't keep anything in the stock market. Yeah,yeah you're thinking I'll lose money to inflation.

I beg to differ. You'll get better gains just keeping your money in cash by doing a couple things. First of all don't spend more than you have coming in. Are you stupid?

Next, if you have credit cards,get rid of them and pay off the debt on them. Then start buying everyday items in bulk,there by saving cash. If you have a family you're better off doing this.

You'll make better gains from buying in bulk and paying off debt,than you can ever get from a mutual fund.

There are better ways to pay off monthly bills as well. Put certain bills in sub-accounts,away from where you put your checks from your job. That way you know where the money is going and not just paying bills,and not having any money period.

As well, learn how to make extra money in a small business. Use money you can afford to lose. Only a fuckin' moron gets a loan for a business. Educate yourself on business. Take action and do what you need to succeed.

The best way to make and keep money is keep it in cash,work your job,learn about business and use money you can afford personally. That's it. 

I realize we all have our financial realities,but keeping your cash safe is a must these days. Now, if you must put your money in anything besides straight cash---put it in stock market indexed certificates of deposit. That way you can make money while the market is up,and you won't lose when it's down.

On another note, I'm not happy with 401 K's or IRA Roths. Yes, you can save taxes now, but you'll be hammered later in life by Uncle Sam. What a nice guy.

There are other ways to save taxes as well with tax free accounts which are better than retirement savings plans.

A job,saving cash,buying items in bulk,pay off bills,a business using money you can afford to lose--will give you peace of mind a hell of a lot more than having racked up big credit card debt, and losing money in the stock market could ever hope to.
